Finding Peace

Running Away From The Silence

When was the last time you thought about absolutely nothing? Have you recently had a true moment of silence in that beautiful head of yours? If you find yourself unable to recall this recently happening (or ever), I can assure you that you’re not alone. Most of us are too preoccupied in our everyday madness to consciously seek quiet or we just don’t think it’s necessary. But like everything in life, too much of anything isn’t good. So, too much noise and brain chatter without a balance will, without a doubt, throw us the hell off.

I believe people will define peace as it is reflected in their own reality, but the core underlying value will always be the seeking of tranquility and calmness in their thoughts and everyday life. It’s indisputable that nobody consciously wants to live consumed with worry and fear, but my question is then why don’t we work on trying to minimize it? We feel the weight but instead, we opt to gossip and hate on others to forget our own realities. How is this okay? There has to be a better way to manage.

If you don’t already know… life will forever throw us curve balls, but if we ourselves don’t take the time to process and accept them they’ll make our minds too tired to ever work towards achieving noiselessness.

The current state of affairs regarding racism in the U.S, the possibility of having a zealot become the President of our country, and a myriad of other issues has pushed millions into living with heightened levels of anxiety.  Nobody is “wrong” for worrying about these things, they’re plausible concerns but from the bottom of my heart, I implore you to seek silence because the never ending escalation of unresolved feelings will eventually take a toll on you.

Embracing The Silence

Accepting that your well-being is a priority is step one. Soon enough you’ll begin checking yourself when you begin slipping into a negative mode and think your way out of it because you deserve the true you. That’s not to say you don’t care about important matters, you’ve just come to terms with understanding that you’re no good when you attempt to function that way. You (nor I) can propose change or quality work when we’re fixated on everything that’s wrong or that can possibly go wrong.

More than ever I've embraced my treasured quiet time. I'm personally experiencing a transition with the outlook I have for myself and my future, so the time I take out is truly needed. All it takes for me is a 30-minute meditation in the sauna. I like the idea of thinking the heat kinda just makes the craziness evaporate...it works for me!

I can't tell you how to go about finding silence because our approaches may differ, but I know that if you try looking for it you will find the perfect remedy.

Fight for your peace of mind. Once you get there you’ll be able to excel at living life as the best version of yourself.
